Meet Larry Lewis, the visionary behind Black in Jax, a passionate advocate for strengthening the Black community through anime. With a deep love for both anime and his community in Jacksonville, Florida, Larry founded Black in Jax with a clear vision: to unite Black anime enthusiasts, foster friendships, and empower individuals to overcome social barriers.

Moderator
Meet Doug. Doug has been apart of Black in Jax Anime since the very beginning, as our first moderator. He has a played a key role in shaping the community. Always active on Facebook, he sparks conservations, shares insights and consistently recommends anime to keep the group engaged.
Laia Castlez
Admin
Meet Laia. The driving force behind Black in Jax. A Jacksonville native, Laia helped build the community to what it is today. With her bubbly personality, she ensures that every member feels welcome. As an admin, she ensures the Facebook group is operating efficiently and safely, she helps create and organize events, collaborates with local businesses and encourages meaningful discussions. Laia is passionate about anime and bringing people of color together over shared interests.

Moderator
Meet Jil, our dedicated moderator at Black in Jax, with a passion for creating inclusive spaces and building meaningful connections within the Black anime community. With her friendly demeanor and passion for friendship, Jil plays a vital role in ensuring that our group remains welcoming, supportive, and engaging for all members.

Moderator
Meet Red. Red is an integral part of Black in Jax Anime, bringing energy positivity and unwavering support to the community. A familar face at every event, he shows up not just in presence but in spirit, always ready to engage, upligt and make every gathering more enjoyable.
Petra Hall
Lead Moderator
Meet Petra. Petra leads the moderation team with expertise, ensuring everything runs smoothly with the leadership team. In addition to this, she plays a large role in event coordination, supporting the community and bringing a smile to group member's faces with her yummy treats as a master chef. Her love for anime is a driving factor in creating a safe place for Black and brown nerds.
